Motul South Africa
Brand Collateral & Motorsport Branding
Challenge
Motul is a premium French lubricant brand with strong technical credibility. In South Africa, the visual execution hadn't kept pace. Race events, dealer workshops, retail shelves, and sponsored vehicles each looked slightly different. None of them looked deliberate.
I was brought in to fix that. The work needed to function at scale. Pit lane banners and podium backdrops down to shelf strips and workshop fascias. All within Motul's established global identity.
Approach
Motorsport
Racing livery for sponsored cars and bikes. Pit lane signage, event banners, gazebo branding, and paddock display structures.
Retail and Trade
Shelf displays, product header cards, floor-standing units, and window graphics for dealerships and auto parts stores.
Workshop Branding
Wall graphics, service bay signage, and branded merchandise. Caps, jackets, and pit crew gear.
Print and Digital
Outdoor advertising layouts, print campaigns, and digital assets for social and trade publications. Every piece built to Motul's international brand standards. Adapted for South African print suppliers and installation conditions. Seven years of consistent execution.
Result
By the end of the partnership, Motul South Africa had a brand that looked the same whether you saw it at Kyalami, a workshop in Durban, or a retail shelf in Mauritius. The visual language was tight and consistent across vehicle livery, signage, print, and retail display.
Dealers had production-ready files. Sponsored teams had livery that read clearly on track and in photography. That kind of consistency doesn't happen by accident. It takes a system.
